Maev Lenaghan

Galway born artist Maev Lenaghan graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 2002. Her work is shaped by her interest in storytelling and a fascination with wilderness: 'Most of us live removed from places where nature is still wild and foreboding. Yet even amongst those of us who have lost sight of our vulnerability... there are yearnings for wilderness, for the great outdoors'.

Maev works with etching and printmaking techniques and produces her own books. Her art has been exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently in Stockholm, Sweden. Her works can be found in the collections of The University of Galway, The Chester Beatty Library and The National Gallery of Ireland among others.
