Anne Emmanuelle Marpeau

Anne Emmanuelle Marpeau is a French artist creating what she describes as "ex-votos" - shadow box detailed dioramas that capture the maritime and coastal scenes of Maine. She is inspired by the rich coastal history of Maine, capturing the stories of sailors, shipwrecks and storms within her work.

Marpeau has won several awards from the Mystic Seaport Museum and in 2019 she received the Thomas M. Hoyne III Award.
