Gary Robinson

Gary Robinson is a visual artist working and living in Longford. Primarily a painter, he incorporates collage, handwriting, typewriting and overheard conversations into his work. More recently his pieces have extended to three dimensional work and installations.

Robinson uses his local environment, urban and rural, to inform the content of his work often making it metaphorically and literally the actual ‘raw material’ of his art. He attended NCAD in the late 1980's. Since then he has worked as a graphic designer and practiced as a visual artist.

Many of Robinson’s pieces have been purchased for private collections in Ireland, the UK, Spain, Germany and the USA. He has exhibited as a solo artist and participated in group exhibitions in Ireland and abroad. In 2022 he received The John Richardson French Residency Award.
