Mai Ryan

Mai Ryan is an artist based in Athlone. She paints mostly local landscapes, using acrylics and mixed media to create abstract-realist works.

Artist's Statement

The local landscape provides the inspiration for my work. I am conscious that our environment is changing and try to show in my work the beauty that exists in our wild areas. I enjoy working with colour and my paintings show this. I start by putting colour down on canvas using memory and some photographic help to inspire me.
