Hoar, John
John Hoar is a watercolourist, born in England in 1947. He studied at the Cambridge School of Architecture and the Brixton School of Building, under Ruskin Spear.
He has won prizes for his watercolours and has exhibited at over 50 one-man shows in England and Ireland. His latest was in China in 2016 where he represented Britain at the 2nd International Watercolour Salon at Qingdao.
John is well-known for his instructional DVDs, which aim to teach aspiring artists how to produce simple and vibrant watercolours. He now spends a lot of time teaching, in Devon and elsewhere, directing two week-long courses a year in Ireland and another two in Essex.
He also has a gallery at home in South Molton.
